1. General Body Meeting (T 3/31 7pm Fung Auditorium)
Come join us for the first spring general body meeting! Learn more
about how you can help out with Bioengineering Day and how to become
more involved with BMES, including how to become an officer next year.
Refreshments will be provided beginning at 6:45pm.
2. Rock Climbing (Tu 3/31 8pm)
Come and check out the Outback Adventures rock climbing gym! No
previous experience necessary. Just bring closed toed shoes and we’ll
walk over right after the GBM or meet us there. Located right by
Canyonview pool.
3. Student Input Wanted for Department Review (Th 4/2 2pm Location TBA)
The Bioengineering Department is undergoing a scheduled review and
would like to solicit student feedback on the department, curriculum,
and professors. Got something to say? Make your voice heard. To sign
up, email Stephanie (s1fan@ucsd.edu) with your name, year, track, and
email address. Spaces are limited.
4. Bioengineering Day (F 4/3 1-7:30pm Cal(IT)2)
Bioengineering Day 2009 is coming up THIS FRIDAY, April 3rd, 2009.
Sign up, and attend the keynote speech, panel discussions, poster
expo, and the annual Bioengineering Quiz Bowl! Registration is
completely free, and includes entry to all of the day’s events,
including our new and improved networking session! (Read: FREE food!)

5. Operation Balboa/San Diego Science Festival (Sa 4/4 7:30am-7pm
shifts Balboa Park)
Join us at the San Diego Science Festival, where BMES will be hosting
two awesome booths (including the biggest one at the Festival). We
need a lot of volunteers! Volunteer shifts run for 2.5 hours starting
at 7:30am, 10am, 12:30pm, 3pm, and 5:30pm. You are welcome to stay
more than one shift! To volunteer, please email Melanie
(mdas@ucsd.edu) with your name, phone number, availability, and if you
can provide rides/need a ride.
6. Greater San Diego Science Fair (Su 4/5 Balboa Park)
The Greater San Diego Science Fair involves the best science projects
from all over San Diego. The kids have been working on some amazing
stuff (not the old baking soda in vinegar volcano), so come volunteer
and see what these kids have been up to! To volunteer, please contact
Peyton (ppaulick@ucsd.edu).
