The Bioengineering Day Committee would like to invite you to participate in this year’s Bioengineering Quiz Bowl (BQB). The BQB is a fun, fast-paced, bioengineering competition and is the culminating event of the 3rd Annual Bioengineering Day (Friday, April 3rd).
Each team, comprised of 4 bioengineering students, must take a preliminary written exam. The 4 teams that score highest in the preliminary exam will move on to the elimination-style tournament held on Bioengineering Day. The winning student team will then face a “team of doom” composed of a UCSD bioengineering faculty member, an industry representative, a grad student and a post-doctorate fellow.
Qualification exams last ~30 minutes and are scheduled for Thursday February 26th from 3:30pm to 6:00pm in PFBH 291. If you think you’re up to the challenge, email beday.bqb@gmail.com with a list of the 4 members of your team and a 30 minute block during which all 4 team members are available. If your entire team cannot make any time on Thursday the 26th, we will host qualification exams on Friday the 27th by special request. FRESHMEN AND SOPHOMORES ARE WELCOME TO PLAY! Remember that the questions will be from all 4 tracks offered by the bioengineering department, as well as some general bioengineering knowledge, so choose your teammates wisely.
If you cannot put together a team of 4 and need more people, or you decide last minute that you want to participate, please email us and show up for the preliminary exam anyways. We will try to arrange a team for you.
