</strong>Where to go: <span style="color: #ff0000;">Volunteer Booth set up between Library Walk and  Peterson Hill</span><br />
Task: Course setup, Race Volunteer,  Cleanup<br />
Sign-in/out: Sheet will be taped down on table in the Volunteer  Booth<br />
***Volunteers who help out for at least 3 hours on Friday will be  entered into an exclusive volunteer raffle for $50 to a place of their  choice!!</p>
<p><strong>3) WAIVERS:<br />
</strong>It is required by UCSD that all volunteers  sign a safety waiver before volunteering (you only need to do this once for the  whole event).  Waivers will be located right next to the sign-in/out  sheet.</p>
<p><strong>4) CLOTHING:<br />
</strong>We strongly urge you to wear closed-toed  shoes to prevent injury.  In addition, if you are helping to do course setup,  since there will be hundreds of hay bales, gloves and long-sleeved shirts are  recommended.</p>
<p>If you are free during any of the times that you are not  signed up for, it is totally great if you lend us a hand&#8211;we can definitely use  your help!  Just show up at the location designed under &#8220;where to go,&#8221; and you  will be able to sign yourself in.</p>

<p>Hope you all had an awesome spring break and are ready to get back in gear!</p>
<p>There will be a tour of ev3&#8217;s Irvine neurovascular facility on April 23, 2008, from 3-5pm. We will be leaving around 2pm and will be back by 6pm. Students will get an overview of ev3&#8242; neurovascular division, a tour of the cleanrooms and R&amp;D Lab which includes product demos, and a chance for Q&amp;A. If you are interested in touring some other part of the facility or would also like to discuss additional topics, please let me know with your RSVP.</p>

<p>More&#8230;Ms. Triplett&#8217;s bio is included below:</p>
<p>Ms. Triplett has over 12 years of experience working with scientists and engineers in the biomedical field, holds a B.S. in Microbiology and a M.S. in Bioengineering. She has an established reputation in the career development area of Biomedical Engineering with strong ties to academic institutions and professional societies. In addition, she has extensive connections within the medical device and biotechnology industry. Her background includes building several Biomedical Engineering Internship Programs and consulting with The Biomedical Engineering society. Charla currently serves as the President of the BME Career Alliance, a non-profit organization that helps connect biomedical engineering students with industry. She will discuss how to create a winning resume with a specific focus on the BME student, types biomedical companies that hire BMES, careers that biomedical engineers pursue, and how to market the BME degree and skills.</p>

<p>Position Title: Engineering Intern</p>
<p>Description:<br />
Assist in the setup of a computer controlled robotic system used in the production of a medical device. Assist in the development of electrical systems and control devices. Assist engineering staff with the development and qualification of biomedical materials and medical devices. Assist in the development of suitable manufacturing methods to fabricate medical devices and medical device components. Design, conduct, and write reports for various experiments. Report such results through written or verbal presentations. Perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.<br />
<span id="more-73"></span>Qualifications:</p>
<p>Student with a major in Electrical, Chemical, Biomedical, or Mechanical Engineering. Some prior job experience. Fluent in written and spoken English. Completion of at least some college laboratory work. Strong computer interface and electrical engineering skills preferred.</p>
<p>Job Function: Engineering, Information Technology</p>
<p>Position Type: Internship</p>
<p>Duration: Generally until graduation</p>
<p>Approximate Hours Per Week: 15 to 20</p>
<p>Salary Level: $12 to $14 per hour</p>
